New Blood Entry — The Pleasure Prescription

Award: Yellow Pencil

The Case for Her & Refinery29 / 2021

51% of menopausal people stop having sex due to symptoms that damage their libido. This has severe effects on their mental health and relationships.

However, regular use of a vibrator can help to ease menopausal symptoms.

Refinery29 and The Case For Her will partner up with Smile Makers to release The Pleasure Prescription, a sex toy range designed for menopausal people that eases specific symptoms such as improving vaginal elasticity and moisture.

Supported by a campaign, we aim to spark a conversation about menopause amongst everyone, whilst offering a range of products to help menopausal people reclaim their flame.

What did the judges have to say?

"Pleasure Prescription looked at it so differently, and detailed it out really well and positivised the problem."

Neville Shah, Executive Creative Director, Ogilvy & Mather

"This entry does two things. It creates a portal for frank conversations around menopause through one of the most talked about realities of menopause – sexual health and sexual expression. It also provides a tool for increasing sexual expression and pleasure for folks experiencing menopause."

Omisade Burney-Scott, Creator/Curator, Black Girl's Guide to Surviving Menopause

"The Pleasure Prescription was great as it really played on the 'pleasure' element yet it was educational and didn't make you feel menopause was the end for women. I loved how the designs were executed including the branding. Felt very modern and something I would definitely want to be prescribed."

Sabina Begum, Creative Director, UK & Europe, Noisy Beast
