The Small Escape
These days cars are criticised more than ever before, making it a challenging time for BMW. So in line with the 30th anniversary of the Berlin Wall’s fall, it told a true story of freedom, ingenuity and engineering skill. At the heart of the campaign is The Small Escape – a short film about a man who successfully smuggled an escapee across the inner German border, hidden in his tiny BMW Isetta. With a faithful East Berlin setting the short film takes the audience back to the year 1963. It gained more than 40 million views through all media across many countries worldwide.
