The Most Powerful Arm
The Australian government has no policy on research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy – a debilitating disease occurring in young males, resulting in death by the age of 25. To raise the public’s awareness of the disease, we built The Most Powerful Arm, a robot that uses Facebook to sign signatures onto a petition in the handwriting of Jacob Lancaster, a young DMD sufferer who can no longer write. Via a live stream, users saw their name being signed. A photograph of their signature was then posted onto their Facebook feed, enabling them to share it, triggering others to participate.
