Curious Customs
Royal Mail set NB Studio a challenge to develop a range of stamps based on eight UK customs for the Curious Customs stamp issue. Cheese rolling and clock burning are just some of the weird and wonderful traditions brought to life. Inspired by British folk traditions, NB Studio included spoken word in the stamp presentation pack, and commissioned performance poet Matt Harvey to create the poem Customs and Exercise – paying homage to the eight UK customs. This was illustrated by Jonny Hannah to bring thematic elements to life alongside a hand-painted map of the UK detailing each custom and its provenance.
