In the 1930s the Phaidon publishing house released a line of monographs devoted to both Old Masters and moderns. In 2015, the publisher brought the books back. Conceived as ‘collectors’ editions’, the monographs are lavishly produced and elegantly crafted. They bring to life the fine craftsmanship of the first half of the twentieth century. Updated with a contemporary “classic” design, including tipped-on image plates and the best papers, these sumptuous volumes are designed to appeal to a new generation of book collectors and art lovers.
