The Salvage Press is the imprint of artist & designer Jamie Murphy. He graduated with an honours degree in The History of Art & Design and Visual Communication from NCAD in 2006. Following several years working on his own and for the design studios of others he went back to study for his MA in Design, graduating in 2012. He then moved to the UK where he worked with Justin Knopp at the newly established letterpress workshop, Typoretum. Returning to Ireland he worked as an understudy to Master Printer Seán Sills at Distillers Press before being appointed Designer in Residence there from 2013 to 2015. Jamie is the current custodian of press, where the focus is now on typographic education and experimentation. Through collaboration, he is allowed to work with wonderful creative people producing books which are of Irish interest. Jamie's award winning books reside in private, public and institutional collections across the globe.
