Victoria is the director of VIKA Books, a book design consultancy that combines traditional book arts, fine art publishing, and creative technologies. Each design is crafted to enhance each unique narrative and manufactured to the highest production standards, showcasing the work of the next generation of artists and organisations.
'Where is the Bird?' is VIKA's first Augmented Reality (AR) publication and is the winner of D&AD'S Future Impact Award 2020. It is the first AR book to inspire the use of British Sign Language in d/Deaf and hearing families. It's a playfully interactive, multimedia book + smartphone interface that is affordable, portable, flexible and fun. Videos translate print into signs, and "magic illustrations" trigger AR animations that bring static, silent pages to life, creating a focal point for parent and child, regardless of their physical differences.
