As an advertising creative Rodrigo Saavedra travelled the world working for agencies like Mother London, WK Amsterdam, Santo Buenos Aires and Africa São Paulo – before deciding to focus on directing.
A natural storyteller, Rodrigo has directed films for global brands such as Dropbox, Corona, Nissan, Renault, Kit Kat, Cadillac and Volkswagen. His work for Scrabble won multiple awards, from D&AD to One Show to Cannes. After it quickly went viral, Time magazine described it as “the perfect love story for word nerds”. In 2018 he premiered his branded short film 'The Red Stain' at Sundance. The film was commissioned by the Francis Ford Coppola Winery.
In 2019 he made his music video debut with 'Corpocontinente' for Grammy-award winning artist, Céu. The video, set in a dystopic near future, was a poignant critique of deforestation in his native Brazil.
Rodrigo currently splits his time bewteen Brazil and Portugal.
