William Skeaping is an activist with Extinction Rebellion.
With a background in Art History, he started something like a career as an early employee at Google UK, leaving to join Lex Records as label manager and A&R, working in London and NYC to take specialist content projects to the mainstream.
Developing brand-funded collaborations with rappers like MF DOOM and graphic novelist Alan Moore led to creative and brand strategy roles with start-ups, a tour of duty in advertising at McCann London before going freelance (with a side-gig composing soundtracks for fashion films).
Will briefly tried to escape from the climate and ecological crisis by moving to Copenhagen and developing his own online video series exploring the bookshelves and artefacts of the world's most interesting people... but came rushing back to the UK for the launch of XR, immediately going full-time.
He is currently working in XR's media & messaging team and with spin-off projects including Culture Declares Emergency and a recent challenge to the advertising industry. He co-edited of Extinction Rebellion's best-selling handbook 'This Is Not A Drill' (Penguin) and is currently working on a sequel.
