Susie Galbraith

Former Account Director, now trainer and consultant

Susie graduated in 1983 from Trinity College Dublin with a MA in medieval and modern english. Thinking this would equip her with a modicum of writing skill she joined an agency as a copywriter in the autumn of that year. Apparently not........ Wanting to write 'pure english' and writing commercial copy are two different things entirely. A useful lesson anyhow, and helped her to foster a finely attuned creative sensibility throughout her career.

So, then Susie went to Saatchis as a graduate trainee account handler in September 1984. All in all she spent 19 years as an account handler at the aforementioned plus, WCRS, Abbott Mead Vickers/BBDO, DFGW and latterly Banks Hoggins O'Shea where she was managing partner for six years on Disney, Ferrero, Barclays, Bacardi Martini, Clairol Haircare and Bluewater to name but a few.

In 2005 she joined the communications consultancy BLUEdOOR as a partner. Commissions are evenly split between training and development and strategic projects with people like - the BBC, British Telecom, Ferrero, Unilever, BBH, McCanns, Naked and Carat.

Her hobbies include eating chocolate, scuba-diving, writing, savouring irish single malts and watching low-brow television - but not necessarily in that order.
