Sebastien Noel is an artist and one of three founders of Troika. He lives and works in London.
He has worked with Eva Rucki and Conny Freyer as an artist trio under the name Troika since 2003, and met both while studying at the Royal College of Art.
Often merging technology with their artistic practice as a point of departure but also to actify the installations, Troika's work explores the intersection of scientific thought, observation and human experience in a rational and rationalized world, and describes how logic and reason live in the presence of the metaphysical and surreal.
Troika’s work has been shown in numerous exhibitions at institutions such as: the Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie, Karlsruhe, Germany (2013), the Victoria & Albert Museum London (2009), The Art Institute of Chicago (2009), the MoMA New York (2008), and their work is represented in the permanent collections of the Israel Museum Jerusalem, British Council, The Art Institute of Chicago, Victoria and Albert Museum and the Museum of Modern Art New York.
