Ashleigh joined Weber Shandwick in 2019 and leads the social offer for the Africa network, specifically focused on content creation, community management, event amplification, influencer marketing, online reputation management and paid social.
Prior to joining the agency, Ashleigh spent just over a year with Cheil Africa as Head of Social, she was responsible for the strategy and implementation of channel optimization and performance measurement across all key social media accounts for Samsung Africa. During her time with the team, she developed essential social media skills across the agency, with a particular emphasis on content, community management, measurement, marketing and strategy.
Ashleigh’s client portfolio experience includes the Kenya Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, Knorr, IBM, Mastercard, Roche and the City of Cape Town. Her career includes four years as Head of Social for digital agency, Hellocomputer where she worked closely with the content production, creative, internal branding, marketing and PR teams on award-winning integrated campaign development and paid social communication management for a range of brands including financial services group Absa, network provider Cell C, and South African Tourism and Toyota.
Ashleigh is a Webfluential-certified influencer marketer and has designed and managed a number of high-profile influencer campaigns. She holds certifications from Facebook as a certified community manager and digital associate. She is also a regular speaker at industry events, having presented on a number of topic areas including digital ROI, online reputation management and upskilling local SMEs with digital knowledge.
