James is one of the most recognised agency heads in Australia. He is a multi-award-winning consultant having advised some of the world’s biggest brands on the global stage. Before joining Havas and Red Agency in Australia he was Managing Director at international agency Grayling where he led a number of their international accounts, including BT, HSBC, Sony, Jaguar and Land Rover.
In each of the past five years he has led Red Agency to become the most awarded PR team in APAC, which has included fourteen Agency of the Year accolades, six Cannes Lions and a D&AD Black Pencil. The agency is the current PRIA Large PR Agency of the Year, Mumbrella PR Agency of the Year and CommsCon Agency of the Year. In 2017 James was the Australian PR juror for the Cannes Lions Festival, the second time he has performed the role having previously done it in 2013.
This year he was named ‘Asia-Pacific PR Agency Head of the Year’ at the prestigious PR Awards Asia 2017. In 2014 he won PR Leader of the Year at the Comms Con Awards run by leading marketing trade Mumbrella, he has once again been shortlisted this year in 2016. In 2008, at the age of just 28, he won the coveted PRCA’s Consultant of the Year (UK) and the same year was named International CSR Leader by PR News USA at their All Stars Awards.
In 2016 he was inducted as a Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Australia, one of the youngest ever admitted. He has responsibility for all the Havas owned PR agencies in APAC and is the Chief Commercial Officer of the Havas Group ANZ, which includes Havas, Havas Media, Red Agency, Host and One Green Bean.
