Michael joined The Gate in January 2013 to be responsible for the Greater China operation, based in Shanghai. He has brought the complementary attributes of sensitivity with an inquisitive challenge that always asks “why not?”. The results are a boldness of ideas that have kept him at the forefront of our industry for the past 28 years.
Proof of his success comes with many creative awards, and marketing awards including the coveted Gold Lion from Cannes, Gold pencil from One Show, Gold Awards from AME Awards, two best outdoor awards at AdFest Awards. He was also Campaign Magazine’s 2010 Creative of the Year for Greater China, leading his team to win Agency of the Year and Digital Agency of the Year at the same time.
Michael has also been Chairman of many judging panels including 2013 Hong Kong 4A Awards, 2013 China 4A Awards, 2013 ROI Awards, Longxi Awards ,Taiwan 4A Awards and Times Advertising Awards. He has been on the judging panel for the New York Festival, Mobius Awards, Spike, London International Awards, AME Awards, AD STARS Awards, China Effie Awards, China “Great Wall” Awards, and AdFest Awards.
