Kaoru Sugano joined Dentsu Inc. in 2002. He specializes in technology and communication and works in a variety of fields, including research, and development of data analysis technologies, as well as product and services development and advertising campaigns for clients globally. Since 2015, he has headed the Dentsu Lab Tokyo ; a team that “thinks through creation”, bringing new forms of creation through technology by combining research, ideation and development.
Some of his celebrated works include “Sound of Honda / Ayrton Senna 1989″,“RoadMovies” chosen as the Apple Appstore’s Best App of 2013 , “Yuki Ota Fencing Visualized” which was presented at the final presentation in Tokyo’s bid to host the Olympics, and “SAYONARA NATIONAL STADIUM FINAL FOR THE FUTURE” that captured the last 15 minutes of the 56 year-old National Stadium in Tokyo.
He has won various prestigious advertising, art, and design awards internationally including, D&AD Black Pencil / Yellow Pencil x 4 / JAAA Creator of The Year (2014) / Cannes Lions Titanium Grand Prix / One Show -Automobile Advertising of the Year / London International Awards Grand Prix/Spikes Asia Grand Prix / ADFEST Grand Prix / TIAA Grand Prix / Yahoo! Internet Creative Award Grand Prix / Prix Ars Electronica Honorable Mention etc.
