I started my career in advertising in Manchester. After a couple of years, I moved somewhere with even more rainfall - Hamburg, where I wrote my first ads, got my first experience of life in Cannes and learnt about the offside rule. I moved back to London to work at Leagas Delaney. Three years and 47 ads later, I moved to Partners BDDH where I was group head on Mercedes, the Guardian and TFL accounts. From 2001 to 2003 I spent a couple of years travelling and freelancing at agencies including Ogilvy, McCanns, DLKW and HHCL and partners. In 2003 I was made Head of Art at HHCL. I was responsible for all the agency’s print work, as well as working across a couple of high profile accounts. I also worked on several pitch wins, including Sky and Godiva. In 2006 I went to Wunderman, where I tried something out of my comfort zone, and got on a couple of Cannes shortlists for my troubles. I then spent 5 years at Iris London as Creative Director, learning about the new media landscape, and trying everything from brand creation to social media activation and helping improve the agencies Campaign School report score from 5 to 8. I also got used to managing creative teams, client relationships and arriving home late for dinner. For the last few years I have been working at M&C Saatchi, across the RBS brands Nat West and Royal Bank of Scotland and helping launch John Lewis Finance.
