Mike Alderson has had an unconventional journey. After leaving school on the outskirts of Liverpool at 16, he apprenticed as a welder, then took up a career as a mountain bike racer, and eventually stumbled on a love of design and directing.
In 2007 he co-founded design and direction agency ManvsMachine in London and now operates out of the Los Angeles studio. Mike has led campaigns some of the largest brands in the world; from Nike, Apple, Xbox, and NBC Universal to Squarespace, Honda, and Channel 4. In recent years he has helped ManvsMachine to a D&AD Black Pencil and three Cannes Gold Lions.
