Lisa and Alana Macfarlane are perhaps best known as “The Mac Twins”, DJ-ing everywhere from Virgin Radio to Love Island. But whilst on the decks by night, they had a side-gig as guinea pigs for Twin Research by day. This is where they discovered that, despite being 100% identical, they only have 30% of the same gut microbiome. So if they couldn’t be sold the same lifestyle or diet-plan, no-one can. And with that www.thegutstuff.com was born. The twins made it their mission to bring this exciting new information they were learning to the masses (not just the “wellness-savvy” middle-classes) and have since gone on to make The Gut Stuff a disruptor and thought-leader in the wellbeing space. They’ve quickly built a huge following and with an e-commerce site, a live roadshow and their bold marketing ideas - taking over a tube station no less - they’ve truly set themselves apart. But they’re not stopping there. With all this buzz, they now have a list of global brand partners large and small clamouring to sponsor their events. And with everyone from Forbes to The Guardian, ITV and BBC News following their journey, they’re sure to “gut” the word out there.
