Strategic thinker and problem solver with a passion for creating lasting, impactful change. As a lead user experience designer at the BBC, she has worked on everything from community-based projects to the World Service portfolio, the award-winning BBC Weather app, and the development of BBC Sounds. After leaving the BBC, Mala moved into the field of DesignOps management at Barclays, focusing on identifying and removing obstacles for design and research teams to deliver high-quality experiences. Engaging stakeholders and cross-functional teams to demonstrate the value of design thinking and drive organisational transformation.
In her free time, Mala volunteers for Mike's Table, a social enterprise, and non-profit supper club. Guests are invited through charities and organisations that support those in recovery from homelessness, addiction, or illness, refugees, those on a low income, and the socially isolated.
