Elaine Ramos

I studied architecture, not design. This probably influenced my work, maybe the attention to materials and to the industrial processes that lay behind the finished work. My approach to design is always more conceptual than formal; I’ve never been a virtuoso, with special drawing skills, etc. My work is cerebral, constructed from the content, that’s why I feel much more comfortable when working with real (and interesting) content and clear restraints. My work is also influenced by the interaction and exchange with my team; it would be very hard for me to work alone.
