A creative visionary, Karl has the ability to think through from brief to solution with incredible speed – yet at the same time hold on to all the details along the way. Karl is a natural creative director with just the right balance humour and honesty. As a fresh-faced 14 year old the first edition of Smile in the Mind made such an impact on Karl that he set his sights on creating work worthy of inclusion in such a book. Karl has been with taxi since his graduation from Somerset College in 2003 and although he’s is a master on the buttons, with an enormous armoury of creative techniques at his disposal he never uses them without a solid idea as the start point. Proof of his wit and determination the second edition of Smile in the Mind went to print in 2016 with Karl’s name and his work printed on those pages.
Rarely switching off from creative direction – when Karl’s not providing it at taxi he’s providing it at home, overseeing the refurbishment of his new house. And as football obsessive when he’s not watching it, he’s playing it – life really is a pitch.
