Andrew Selby is Senior Lecturer in Illustration and Animation in the Loughborough Design School. From 2011 - 2014 he served as Head of the School of the Arts, followed by six years as Associate Dean Enterprise in preparation for REF2021.
An internationally recognised illustrator, his work for Nike, Eurostar, British Gas and American Airlines has spanned a career of nearly 30 years. He has worked with many major newspapers, magazines, design and advertising groups. Andrew is author of Animation in Process (Laurence King, 2009), Animation (Laurence King, 2013), and Editorial Illustration: Context, Content and Creation (Bloomsbury (2022). He has an extensive network of creative professional contacts across the globe and believes in education in action, through placement, internship and live projects for students that are rewarded and beneficial for all. Andrew's students have won 13 D&AD New Blood Pencils, the RSA Student Design Awards, Crowbar Advertising Awards and numerous illustration awards including Society of Illustrators', Association of Illustrators' and 3x3 Student Awards. His graduates - numbering in excess of 2000 - work in positions of authority and impact across the global creative industries.
