Ben Campbell

Ben Campbell

  • Partner & Editor

Ben was drumming in a band when he started as a runner for Soho-based Williams Editing under the apprenticeship of Derek Williams. After cutting Kate Bush's promo for 'King of the Mountain', he was approached by Cut+Run founder, Steve Gandolfi, and signed on as an assistant in '05.

Editing two short films led to working with directing duo Leila & Damien de Blinkk, for Sony Vaio and starring John Malkovich. In April '08 Ben was voted in the top 3 best young editors in The Boards First Awards and went to New York to receive this accolade. He was promoted to full editor shortly after.

Ben’s work has been recognised at festivals around the world, and in 2015 he picked up a bronze LIA award for Best Editing for Rekorderlig’s multi-award winning “Silver Skater” spot. The commercial, directed by Andreas Nilsson, was also presented with British Arrows, D&AD, Epica, Kinsale Sharks, Creative Circle and Clio awards.

In 2018, Ben edited widely celebrated commercials for brands including Snickers, McDonalds, OVO energy, VW and Stella Artois. The recent Three “Phones Are Good” commercial, directed by Ian Pons Jewell, made numerous Ads Of The Year lists and was hailed by Campaign magazine as the funniest ad of 2018. Ben started 2019 with the “Like a Bosch” comedic music video for Bosch – another film featured in numerous Editor’s Pick and Ad of the Day articles.

Ben is a partner at Cut+Run, helping guide the edit house and all its talented young staff to yet another successful year.
