After graduating from Norwich School of Art Maggie took a job at Larkin, Stratton and May, a leading London branding house. While there she gained experience on many retail brands including Guinness, Harvey Nichols and Monsoon. Spotting an ad in the Guardian for a designer to manage the in house team at John Lewis she jumped at the chance to join the inimitable employee-owned retailer. In 1998 Maggie became Head of Graphic Design for Waitrose, the food business of the John Lewis Partnership.

As a practising designer she was one of the first members of the Waitrose fledging marketing department. She is now responsible for the design direction of Waitrose’s visual identity, in store communications, publishing, product branding and packaging. Waitrose and its creative consultants have collected many industry awards including a clutch of D&AD pencils, three IPA Marketing Effectiveness awards for advertising and a remarkable 11 DBA Design Effectiveness awards for own-label packaging, including the grand prix prize for the essential Waitrose range design.
