Matthias is Chief Creative Officer of the Scholz & Friends Family with offices in Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Zurich.

Additionally, he has been working as a university professor since 2010 and heads up the department of Communication Design at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna/Austria.

In The Drum World Creative Rankings he is ranked the 2nd most awarded Chief Creative Officer in the world in 2021.

Matthias is one of the most awarded creatives in Germany. His work, amongst others for Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, McDonald’s, Mercedes-Benz, Montblanc, Berliner Philharmoniker and Der Tagesspiegel, was awarded with more than fifty Lions in Cannes and about thirty Grand Prixs at international Award Shows.

Matthias studied graphic design in Munich and started his career at Scholz & Friends more than 20 years ago. In 2015 he became Chief Creative Officer, responsible for the creative performance of Scholz & Friends.

From 2007 to 2009 he attended the international School of Creative Leadership, graduating as Executive MBA.
