Purva is a designer and creative strategist for UNICEF at the United Nations in New York. Her heart lies in using design to drive research into action for humanitarian rights. This probably explains why she has chosen the nerdy space of data science at UNICEF to do just that.

Born and raised in Mumbai Purva started her career in the world of political campaigning, and later pursued a master’s in Brand Strategy at the School of Visual Arts in New York. The lightbulb moment came while investigating how branding and design could be used as a force to strengthen a country’s political and economic climate. Mass impact alert.

Today, Purva uses her private sector skills and strategies from working on brands like Under Armour, New Balance and Thinx to solve complex problems affecting children. She also, in her spare time, creatively leads a mind body soul app with a team of developers.
