Recently awarded the coveted ‘Designerati Top 100’ accolade as one of the UK’s most influential designers, Steve Davies was celebrated together with other luminaries for his ingenuity in fresh thinking, ability to inspire others, and a relentless commitment to design excellence.
After Design Directing Grey London through it's most prolific recent years, Steve was invited into the Head of Art role at Havas at the start of 2017. Here, Davies has successfully re-established the agency’s now reputable, design credentials and at the end of his first year there, Havas London was shortlisted for Campaign's 'Agency of the Year'.
During his years at Grey, Davies was responsible for building the worlds’ most internationally awarded, creatively celebrated design departments, driving the agency’s ambition towards global recognition. He is known for is relentless drive to push design-led theory across all media and all brands, even those you wouldn’t expect beautiful work from. His work has been awarded by D&AD, Creative Circle, Campaign Big and Cannes Lions and he is now a regular juror and guest critic for awards-based institutions.
He has been commissioned to design a book cover for Penguin Random House, has exhibited at the V&A Museum, and even contributed to the heralded 'Paul Smith' exhibition at the Design Museum.
