Present Head of Brand Creative - John Lewis
Responsible for defining the creative vision and setting the strategy to develop
the Master Brand and Own Brand set by the commercial ambitions of the
business. Leading the Brand Creative Department and responsible for
commissioning design agencies and consultants to develop both strategic
projects and deliver a wide remit including digital content, publications, the John
Lewis magazine, catalogues, own brand packaging, VM, new format store
concepts, branded collateral and multi-channel assets.
Responsible for managing a £10+ million budget.
2003-2007 Creative Director - Designhouse consultants
Developing the creative output and leading the multidisciplinary creative team of
this award winning design consultancy specialising in Branding, Retail and
Branded environments. Clients included ABN AMRO bank, Land Securities plc,
Bt, City Inns Hotel group, Bupa, Tesco and Alpha Airports group. Key
achievements include winning both Design week and DBA effectiveness awards
for our work for Land Securities and Alpha Airports group.
2000-2003 Head of Global Design - The Body Shop International plc
Leading a multidisciplinary creative team of 25.
Responsible for managing a £1.5 million department budget.
Creative direction to refocus and re-energise The Body Shop brand globally in 45
countries across packaging, brand campaigns, environments, brochures, product
design, accessories & gift design, advertising, online, and pr materials. Key
achievements include the creative direction of the global brand within a newly
regionalised structure. The development and modernisation of The Body Shop
brand including the introduction of a brand building packaging strategy, reenergised
communications style with greater brand focus and the development of
new concepts for the retail interior.
1995-2000 Deputy Head of Global Design - The Body Shop International plc
Leading 3 multidisciplinary creative teams designing brand communications
materials, product design, accessories & packaging for 45 markets.
Deputising for Head of global Design. Key achievements include leading creation
of: High-profile global campaigns, including The award winning ‘Mark your Mark’
human rights campaign with Amnesty International, and ‘choose positive energy’
campaign with Greenpeace.
1990-1995 Senior Creative - Imagination Design Consultants
Designing high-profile international projects within multidisciplinary creative
teams. Including exhibitions, retail design, corporate literature, events, and
communications. Key achievements include graphics and communications for the
award-winning Dinosaur Gallery at the London’s Natural History Museum in
1988-1990 Designer - Fitch & Co Design Consultants
Graphic designer within multidisciplinary creative teams. Projects included
international retail design projects for Midland Bank & La Renacente, Milan, to
exhibition design including Chinese Gallery V&A Museum London.
Background Originally from Gibraltar, educated in England, studying Art & Design and
communications in London and Madrid. Bilingual in English and Spanish
