Kabelo began his career at FCB Electric Ocean in 2000, where he worked on global brands and built local success in the digital world for brands such as Toyota, Lexus, Motorola, Vodacom, Emirates, EA Games, Kraft Foods, HP, Samsung, Compaq, and Caltex. After winning several awards, Kabelo quickly moved up the ranks through various agencies, notably Mesh and Hello Computer. He then moved to TBWA, and before being made Executive Creative Director and being appointed to the board of Digital Arts Network in Africa, he was ECD at TBWA\Tequila gaining more experience with working on global brands including; McDonald’s, Nissan, and Standard Bank. As ECD of TBWA Hunt Lascaris, he drove various DX initiatives and worked on a client portfolio consisting of Spotify, Netflix, MTN, Smirnoff, Joburg Ballet, Intuit QuickBooks, Goodbye Malaria, and Multichoice Africa Limited, just to name a few.

Kabelo has sat on various local and international awards juries and has been invited to judge CICLOPE Africa in 2022. He previously judged ADC New York, the Clios, the Loerie Awards (which is the leading African and Middle Eastern advertising award show). Kabelo is currently serving as the Jury Chair for the Marketing Panel of the IAB South Africa Bookmarks Awards (a show that celebrates digital marketing and innovation excellence). In 2013, driving creative excellence on the continent, Kabelo was appointed to the judging panel of the inaugural advertising and communications awards launched by Botswana's Association of Communication Agencies (ACA). He was also invited to be a guest keynote speaker at the Ideas Expo event in Gaborone.

Kabelo's work has been awarded at major advertising festivals including Cannes Lions, ADC New York, The One Show, D&AD, Clios, and Webbys.

His role in developing creative modern advertising and digital solutions has also been widely recognised throughout South Africa. In 2015, Kabelo was featured in Destiny Man magazine’s Power of 40 List, which celebrates extraordinary men from all over South Africa under the age of 40.
