Neil was born in Aberdeen, Scotland. He studied law then began working in
advertising in London in the late 1980s.
Two years at BBH were followed by eight years at TBWA, running accounts such as
Nissan and Cadbury. At TBWA he was promoted to MD, during a period in which the
agency topped the new business league and was runner-up ‘Agency of the Year’
three years running.
He joined Wieden+Kennedy London as MD in 2004. He spent two years from 2017-
2018 managing the W+K global network and is currently Director of Growth Markets.
In 2019 Wieden+Kennedy was named Agency of The Decade by The Drum. W+K
was also Fast Company's 'most innovative company in advertising and marketing' in
2018 and again in 2019.
