Scarlett Montanaro is a Creative at Revolt and co-founder of social enterprise CRACK + CIDER, a shop that allows the public to buy essential items for the homeless which has since launched in London, New York and San Francisco. This year, Scarlett judges in the newly anointed Side Hustle category at D&AD Awards. Here she writes about the importance of side hustles as a driving force for creativity and purpose in and out of agency walls.

This was a quote I was given as a thought-starter when I was asked to write this piece.
It spoke to me about the deeply personal and complex relationship I have with my side-hustle. I wanted to explore it, and open up a conversation about this unspoken side to the side-hustle. So, here it goes.
