D&AD Shift with Google is our intensive night school programme that places an emphasis on self-taught and proactive talent. Currently running in multiple cities worldwide, Shift supports self-made creatives to reach their potential and make the best creative work, gets them noticed and challenges industry assumptions that creative excellence can only be found in certain places.
Over 4 months, 21 New York-based creatives with varying experience types answered real briefs from real brands, such as adidas, Diageo and Spotify. They worked with industry professionals, mentors and a life coach all in the lead up to pitching their ideas to these clients. Each night school session was led by industry professionals, brands and agency innovators.
The creatives learnt, they collaborated, they established new networks and found exciting job opportunities, springboarding their careers into the creative industries.
