How Black Girl Festival started; an interview with Paula Akpan

Paula Akpan is a London-based journalist and speaker. She is a founding director of Black Girl Festival, the UK's first arts & culture festival celebrating black women and girls. She is also the co-founder of the "I'm Tired" Project, an award-winning photography campaign and international workshop programme.

Before she joins Nicole Crentsil on stage at D&AD Festival 2019 to discuss Black Girl Festival and the importance of building sustainable communities, she offers her advice on young creatives who want to start in the industry and what are the questions they should be asking if they want to make a change.
