I have never been great at drawing. When I started studying advertising at college around 25 years ago, I used to scribble relentlessly in sketchbooks. And yet, the only praise I received was from my family. I thought I needed to know how to draw in order to succeed as a good art director. At the same time, I knew that I lacked technique, and that I wasn't particularly talented with a pencil at hand.
