Cités is Prime Video’s first 100% TikTok series and an ode to France’s youth and French cultural heritage. It hopes to demonstrate that the two are not disconnected, conveying a message of hope and inclusion. Cités consists of 12 episodes following the everyday lives of various young people, who live in les banlieues – the suburbs outside Paris. It shows how they live their lives to the beat of texts by illustrious figures from French culture. Every single stage of the production was carried out directly on TikTok, and the series was watched 27m times in the first week.
