V&A Wayfinding

Award: Shortlist

Shortlist / Graphic Design / Signage & Environmental Graphics / 2020

A wayfinding system for the V&A and its four million annual visitors, unifying seven miles of galleries across three interconnected buildings with the sensitivity and clarity due to this Grade-I listed architectural wonder and its treasures. The result plays homage to the museum with plinth forms in beautiful dyed tulipwood. Using restricted use of punchy colour helps visitors navigate to headline and, importantly, fee-generating exhibitions, while a consistent easy-to-use system and map encourages everyone to explore the far-flung corners of the museum.
