Yianni Warnock: Homebodies

Director's Profile:
Yianni has a Masters from the Victorian College of the Arts where he made Man on Earth and Playpals, both premiering at MIFF. Yianni’s third short film, Happy with Bear had its premiere at SXSW, 2015. His latest short, Homebodies, had its world premiere at Clermont-Ferrand and U.S. premiere in SXSW 2016. Yianni is now developing a feature film and has began directing commercials with FINCH.

Film Description:
Shannon cooks dinner whilst speaking to a perverted stranger online. Andrew takes a bath wrapped in seared Christmas lights. What could possibly shock these lost souls from their malaise? There needed to be a clash of subtle and absurd humour with a confronting look at human misery and loneliness. This was the challenge and focus in making a short that would be both amusing and have pathos.
