James Burns: We Live This

Director's Profile:
As a filmmaker, Burns started out shooting shorts and documentaries and began to gather the odd branded content brief working with various NYC production companies. Soon he began to shape his own projects, which led him to We Live This, his first short film. Burns most recently began producing his first documentary series for VICE entitled Crime Pays. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Film Description:
A stunning depiction of four young boys from the projects who ride the subway each day, performing to commuters for dollars in a hat. Most New Yorkers know them, and many have opinions about them, but this film takes you beyond their vibrant street personas to reveal a breathtakingly tender and surprising account of their struggles.
