ING, a Dutch multinational banking group, has been building its credentials as an innovative bank. For years, ING supported Dutch art and culture. ING wants to express their innovative culture in all their brand expression. But how to do this for art and culture, a world steeped in tradition instead of innovation? Our inspiration came from the discussion regarding the use of data in society. People are anxious of data. We wanted to show that data can be human and emotionally touching. So, we created The Next Rembrandt a 3D printed painting made entirely from data derived from Rembrandt’s work.
