Grub Hub wants hungry people to use their mobile app instead of ordering over the phone. So we focused on the pain point of miscommunication that can happen when calling to order. But instead of making the restaurant employee hard to understand, we made the caller the problem. One caller speaks in anachronistic 1930’s lingo and another’s speech is riddled with corporate jargon. We felt this approach was both less expected and doesn’t take cheap shots at people with accents or speech impediments.
