Film Description
Adapted from a poem, I wanted to find a balance between the visual and the meanings explored in text. Talking about America, I wanted to stay away from the cliches and approach it from a foreign perspective. I appreciate the heavy handedness of classical music, but we remixed it in a way that feels more relevant. The aim of the cinematography was to create something cold, timeless, and sleek.

Ayse Altinok is a Turkish-born artist and filmmaker whose unique work is characterized by emotional narratives and rich visuals. With an art school education and ten years of experience as an art director at Widen + Kennedy in Portland and Amsterdam, she brings depth and beauty to projects from short films to music videos to commercials.
