In 2013, Paddy Power launched a campaign to kick homophobia out of football, sending rainbow bootlaces to all 5,000 professional players in Britain. The campaign was a success and saw over 50 clubs take part. For 2014, Paddy Power enlisted bigger stars, more brands and the general public. Over 70 clubs took part, including 75% of Premier League sides. Over 40 brands showed their support, including McDonald's and Smirnoff, and the campaign saw Paddy Power receive 100,000 requests for laces.
