Midnight Americana

Background & Solution –
This series of images was taken in one expedition across the USA earlier this year. The inspiration behind this series was to capture a sense of the sleeping reality of Americana, the darker side of the nation of dreams, where not everyone can be a baller, win big in vegas, or live in a condo in spite of the ever illusive ideals of the American Dream.

I am a travel and food photographer based in Peckham, London. I grew up between South Africa and Wiltshire, before moving to Leeds to study Literature, and later to London to work as a freelance assistant. I have explored many different countries in South America, Asia, Africa and Europe, and I am fascinated by how the people of various nations interact with their ever-changing environments.
