Background & Solution –
Image 1: I wanted to blend my love for documentary photography with fashion which I can sometimes find sterile and recycled. I'm trying to make fashion more accessible by shooting people I meet who possess amazing character and unconventional beauty, to showcase themselves and the garments. I want to create something authentic and genuine that is outside of what is considered the norm.
Image 2: When I work with a stylist it's really important we understand the aesthetic of what we are trying to achieve. In each case we wanted to blend what they were wearing with current and vintage pieces to create a genuine image which mixed the individuals character and the styling together. Although I want the image to be styled - I don't want it to look like it - it has to seem natural.
