IBM’s “Smarter Outdoor” showed how advertising can inform and provide a service at the same time. City-dwellers could actually use the specially-built posters in the form of benches, shelters and ramps, and in turn learn where to find more ideas for better cities online from around the world. It received considerable social media attention from people who care about cities, design, and ideas.
