This compact tome catalogues around 2,300 restaurants, detailing eateries from around the world recommended by international chefs. The brief for the book came as a long list of sales blurbs and our typographic solution was inspired by the layout of 1960's British phone directories that featured ads on every available space, including the spine, paper edges and both covers. The text is printed in a single colour (Process Black) and all 704 pages are made up entirely of typographical and cartographical images. Over 50 different typefaces were used, including a handful of custom made fonts.
