Beggar Broadcast
Wood Pencil / White Pencil / White Pencil / 2013
Johannesburg is inundated with beggars. Yet in their masses they have become invisible. And with a failing education system, the next generation will end up on the streets too. This is something that registered charity One School at a Time plans to change by improving just one school at a time.A solution for the education system can deliver a solution for poverty. Our idea? To give the voiceless a voice. By building a device capable of interrupting any radio frequency, we broadcast the stories of real beggars into the cars of those ignoring them. Their message? Don’t give us money; instead donate online to One School at a Time.
