Food for Thought

Award: Wood Pencil

Wood Pencil / Graphic Design / Wayfinding & Environmental Graphics / 2013

This was part of a wider project organised by the Architecture Foundation and funded by the Mayor of London’s Outer London Fund and Brent Council, pairing designers with local businesses to revive shops and bring about a positive change to London’s Willesden Green. Taking inspiration from the cafe’s name, we designed bespoke ‘Thinker Stools’ – a reference to Rodin’s famous sculpture ‘The Thinker’. They created an amusing point of engagement and a more flexible seating plan. A window display featuring revolving questions acted as a community engagement board giving customers food for thought.
