In a world of increasing violence, Peace One Day along with the D&AD White Pencil competition asked us to raise awareness for Peace Day, 21 September. This led us to create ‘Recipeace’, a movement that brings conflicting people together over food. It’s over food that we sit down together to settle our differences, bury the hatchet and create understanding. ‘Recipeace’ raised awareness for Peace Day by generating over 3.5 million media impressions (with no media weight), thousands of tweets worldwide and, with the help of hundreds of restaurants, countless peace dinners throughout Chicago.
