Our challenge was to create idents that built an immersive Christmas world, signifying everything that is wonderful about BBC Two: bold creativity, wit, substance and pleasure. To create a counterbalance to Christmas clichés, we chose a celebration of the more magical, inspired and unexpected side of Christmas. The idents received acclaim industry-wide and with audiences. The first BBC Two Christmas idents for four years cut through the usual Christmas clutter and were genuinely pleasurable to watch. They stand up to viewing time and time again.
